A new state executive order allows ADU construction on fire-affected properties before rebuilding the primary residence. With this path forward, local jurisdictions are now updating their policies to align with this change. This special provision applies to properties damaged or destroyed in the recent fires and will remain in effect for three years. We’ll manage the permitting process on your behalf, which is typically expedited in fire-affected areas, but timelines vary by county. Your property may need additional site preparation before construction can begin. We’ll help you understand these requirements and connect you with appropriate resources. We recommend connecting with us early to plan your timeline while initial property work is underway.
